A 30-plus-year veteran of New Mexico public schools, a community activist, volunteer with the Tesuque fire department, and a board member of many non-profit agencies, I've dedicated my energies to making Santa Fe a good place to live.
When I arrived in Santa Fe in 1966, it was a small town with a big heart. Santa Fe may have grown enormously and taken on a certain cache, but in so many respects it's still a small town with a big heart. Nothing saddens me more than talking to my former students and learning that they feel that they can no longer afford living here.
Always one for action, I joined the Santa Fe City and County Affordable Housing Task Force and became a broker associate with the goal of becoming armed with as much information as possible to help my former students. This is just my latest manifestation of my commitment to this remarkable town. Not only do I feel like my students, friends and family deserve someone who's dedicated to serving them, but they contribute and give so much to the community. Santa Fe would be a far different and a far more impoverished place without them.
